Moving from ChMeetings to SoapBox

If your church manages its people in ChMeetings, you already know who's who. Here's how moving to SoapBox works, one step at a time.

Why SoapBox

Upload a sermon, and SoapBox writes the transcript, so your people can read it during the week. Amplify drafts social posts from that sermon, and nothing goes out until you approve it.

Posts from your church are translated into each member's own language. And at year end, the web app emails each named giver their giving statement.

What your church gets

Tags, interests and segments

In the web app, tag people, note their interests, and save segments, like everyone in a group who attended between two dates. Export any segment to a spreadsheet from the web app, for your own email tool.

Event check-in and visitors

At events, members scan to check in, and visitors fill in a short form, with no account needed. Visitors who fill in the form show up in Visitor Follow-up, ready for your team to reach out.

How to switch

  1. Bring your people over

Bring your people over from a CSV file, in the web app: open People, then Members, and choose Import from CSV. Check the columns, and see who will be added before anyone is.

  2. Bring your past giving

In the web app, open Giving, then Import past giving, and choose your ChMeetings gifts, saved as a CSV file. Cash and check gifts can be added by hand.

  3. Invite your people

Share your invite code, and your people join you in the SoapBox app. They get sermons, groups, prayer requests and giving, on iPhone, Android and the web.

  4. Set up giving

Gifts go to your church's own Stripe account. SoapBox takes no platform fee on donations, and Stripe's processing fees still apply. Givers can choose to cover the estimated card fee, so your church keeps about the full gift.
