♿ Found a barrier? Tell us.
If any part of SoapBox is hard or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it — and we will help you get what you needed in the meantime.
- Email: support@soapboxsuperapp.com with "Accessibility" in the subject.
- Our commitment: we aim to acknowledge within 3 business days and tell you what we're doing about it.
- You don't need technical language. "I can't read the giving screen with my screen reader" is a perfect report.
1. Our Commitment
SoapBox Super App is committed to making our mobile apps and website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, larger text, voice control, switch access, or who navigate without a mouse.
We treat accessibility as part of building the product, not a task to finish once. Where we fall short, we want to know, and we intend to fix it.
2. The Standard We're Working Toward
We are working toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our target across the SoapBox iOS app, Android app, web app, and this website.
To be straightforward with you: we do not yet claim full conformance with that standard. We are in the middle of an ongoing audit and remediation effort, and parts of our product do not meet it today. We would rather tell you that plainly than post a claim we can't stand behind. The sections below describe what we have already built and what we know is still outstanding.
3. What We've Built So Far
- Adjustable text size. Small, Medium, and Large settings in your profile, applied throughout the app.
- System text-size support. The iOS app now respects your device's own Larger Text accessibility setting, in addition to our in-app setting.
- Light and dark appearance. Choose Light, Dark, or follow your device — useful for light sensitivity, migraine, and low-vision needs.
- Colour contrast work. We have been auditing and correcting text and control contrast against the WCAG AA thresholds, including several long-standing failures in our primary buttons.
- Reader controls. The Bible reader offers multiple themes, including a dark and a sepia option.
- Automated guardrails. Our test suite now fails the build if certain accessibility regressions are reintroduced, so fixes stay fixed.
4. Known Limitations
We publish these openly because you deserve to know before you hit them:
- Screen reader support is incomplete. Some controls and images lack descriptive labels, and reading order is not correct on every screen.
- Very large text can clip. Some screens use fixed-height layouts that may cut off text at the largest sizes. This is an active area of work.
- Some third-party and embedded content — including certain payment, video, and map components — is outside our direct control and may not meet the same standard.
- Some documents and older marketing pages may not yet meet AA contrast or structure requirements.
- Captions. Sermon and video content uploaded by churches may not always include captions or transcripts. Where SoapBox generates transcripts, accuracy varies.
5. If Something Isn't Accessible Yet
While we work on a fix, we will help you another way. If a feature is unusable for you, contact us and we will provide the information or complete the task with you through an alternative channel — email, phone, or a direct walkthrough — at no cost to you.
If you are a church leader whose members need assistance, you can contact us on their behalf.
6. How We're Working On It
- Auditing our apps and website against WCAG 2.1 AA, screen by screen, and tracking findings as prioritised work.
- Testing with platform accessibility tools, including VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android, and keyboard-only navigation on the web.
- Fixing highest-impact barriers first — the paths people use most: prayer, giving, sermons, and community.
- Preventing regressions with automated checks in our build pipeline.
- Listening. Reports from people who use assistive technology tell us more than any checklist. They go to the top of the list.
7. Compatibility
SoapBox is designed to work with current versions of iOS and Android and their built-in accessibility features, and with recent versions of major web browsers. Older operating systems and browsers may not support everything described here.
8. Feedback and Escalation
If our response doesn't resolve your issue, tell us and we will escalate it internally rather than close it. Accessibility reports are not treated as ordinary feature requests.

9. Updates to This Statement
We review this statement as our accessibility work progresses and update it to reflect what is actually true of the product — including moving items out of "known limitations" as we resolve them.
