Does SoapBox send the SMS itself?

No. Your church sends through its own SMS provider, using the list you export from SoapBox.

Can I export the list from an iPhone?

Not today. Export it from the web app or the Android app.

Giving with M-Pesa

Your members can give with M-Pesa, straight to your church's own Lipa Namba. SoapBox opens the M-Pesa menu and shows them your Lipa Namba and the amount. They confirm with their own M-Pesa PIN, then tap to log their gift. The gift goes straight to your church. SoapBox takes no platform fee on donations, and Vodacom's own M-Pesa fees still apply.

Members without a smartphone

Some of your members have a basic phone. No smartphone, no apps, no internet. SoapBox has a place for them too.

Add them to your People list with a name and a mobile number. They need no app and no account.
To reach them by SMS, export your People list with phone numbers from the web app or Android, and send through your church's own SMS provider.

In your language

The app runs in Swahili, and ORA, SoapBox's study assistant, answers Bible questions in Swahili, as a research aid for study. Posts and reading-plan days are translated into Swahili automatically, and one tap shows the original.

Your Bible, free

The Bible reader has the Swahili Neno Bible, free.

For your church or ministry

You can make your ministry or group private. It stays out of search, and people join only by your invitation or invite code. Your church starts free, for up to a hundred members, and you can share the invite code on WhatsApp.

Light on data

Data costs money. Turn on Data-Light Mode, and photos inside posts wait until you tap them: always on Android and the web app, and on iPhone whenever you're on mobile data. Bible chapters you've already opened stay readable on your phone, even offline.
