What's New: Week of October 21, 2026

Ministries get their own wording and tools, pastors get year-end giving statements, and privacy controls grow.

Here is what changed in SoapBox between October 12 and October 21, 2026. Most of it is about making the app fit ministries as well as churches, and about giving you more say over your own information.

Built for ministries, not just churches

A ministry now sees ministry wording throughout the app: on the plan card, in giving setup, in sermons, members, SMS and the content library. The ministry console now has a Dashboard and Teachings on iPhone, Android and the web, and the giving rules shown to a ministry match what a ministry actually does.

Close a group or ministry without losing its history

Leaders can now close a group or ministry instead of deleting it. Giving records keep their community, a closed group takes no new prayer requests, and closed groups and ministries no longer show up when people look for communities nearby. The app screens for this are coming in the next app update.

Year-end giving statements for pastors

Pastors on iPhone can now open a year-end giving statements console, and there is a new step-by-step video for it on the website. Donations remain a 0% fee passthrough straight to the church.

More control over your privacy

The setup wizard no longer publishes a founder's sign-in email as the church's contact email, and the contact email helper now says plainly that the address is public. You can leave a church you give to, with a clear warning about any recurring gift. Profile privacy switches are now on Android and the web, event RSVPs are more private and can be undone, and deleting your account now cancels recurring gifts first.

Amplify and the Bible reader

When Amplify posts to YouTube, pastors can now choose Public, Unlisted or Private. Scheduling refuses a time that has already passed, and Send no longer spins forever. In the Bible reader, the toolbar follows your reading theme, searching for a verse lands on that verse, and a locked premium voice now explains what it needs. Farsi also gets the Lion-and-Sun flag in the language picker, and the website's Languages tab has search and 16 new country video cards.

Explore faith at your own pace.

SoapBox is a free Bible app with a live prayer wall, daily devotionals, and ORA, an AI study assistant that answers questions about faith with grounded, Scripture-cited responses — judgment-free, in your language.
